I started the Writing Repair Centre blog in 2009, when I was teaching at Conestoga College. My PR students were (still are!) talented, creative people with great ideas. Unfortunately, that didn't always come across in their written assignments.
So I set up a blog to write about some of the things that were showing up in their work.
One of their assignments for me was to start a blog and post at least 12 times during the term. So it was only fair that I play, too. It was fun. So here we are.

Sue, the question is does HE know what he’s trying to say?
Right on, Sandy! It seems our speaker failed to ask the two key questions that should precede any communication:
1. Who am I talking with?
2. What do I want them to do, think or know as a result?
If you don’t know the answers, you’re probably just jabbering.
